Design 360
Design 360is a student-run business located at Lanier College & Career Academy. We take Work-Based Learning students from Hall County High Schools to work as interns in the lab. We work with real-world clients to design and produce promotional items such as t-shirts, mugs, and more! Our student interns are involved throughout the whole process from communicating with clients, creating designs, to production. To inquire about placing an order, please email design360@hallco.org .

What is Direct-To-Garment Printing?
Direct-to-garment printing is a process that allows us to print directly on to 100% cotton material! It works very similarly to your printer at home. The design is dyed into the fabric. This means it can’t wash out or peel off over time! Direct-to-garment printing works best on lighter colored material because there is no white ink. Design 360’s best seller is our direct-to-garment printed t-shirt!
What is Embroidery?
Embroidery is applying art or designs to fabric with thread and needle. We have a multi-needle embroidery machine that reads a certain file type to embroider designs. We can do everything from monograms to logos. We have access to all embroidery files for all Hall County School District School. We can also have a logo digitized so that it can be embroidered.
What is Sublimation?
Sublimation printing uses heat to vaporize ink and infuse its color into a poly-coated substrate. It allows us to print photo quality images or designs on dozens of items such as coasters, mugs, ornaments, keychains, and more! The sublimation process prevents the designs from fading or distorting over time.
What is vinyl?
Vinyl is a flexible and versatile material that can be used to make decals like logos for businesses or monograms. With our vinyl cutter we are able to cut custom designs out. This is a great material to use on a variety of surfaces like windows, walls, phones, cars. and more. We can even use heat transfer vinyl (HTV) to put onto apparel.
What is wide format printing?
With wide format printing we can make large scale prints on multiple kinds of media in a wade variety of sizes. We have 2 types of printers that use different kinds of ink, aqueous and eco-solvent.
With our aqueous ink printer, we can print on media like plain paper, scrim banner, and canvas. Our most popular items from our aqueous ink printer are our custom canvas prints. Prints from this printer are best for indoor usebecause we use water soluble ink. However, they will work outside as long as it’s not for multiple weeks.
Our eco-solvent ink printercan print and cut! We can print/cut stickers, static clings, vinyl, paper, and more. Our most popular item from our eco-solvent ink printer are our stickers! Eco-solvent ink is waterproof making it an option for indoor or outdoor use.
What are screen print transfers?
We order screen print transfers from a third party vendor. They screen print the design we set up onto transfer paper and ship it to the lab. When it arrives, we use a heat press to apply it to shirts and other items. Screen print transfers can be applied to almost any fabric.
Shirt Services
Direct to Garment Printing
This process works similarly to printing on paper with a regular printer. The design is dyed into the fabric of a cotton shirt.
There is NO white ink, so nothing will show up on black or dark colored items. Similarly, very bright colors will affect how the design looks. (Ex: A yellow design on a blue shirt will look a bit green.)
Any white in the design will be the color of the shirt. It works best on light colors like white, light grey, and light blue.

Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)
We cut vector designs from Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV), remove all of the excess HTV from the design, and then apply it on top of the shirt.
Designs cut with HTV cannot be very small or intricate. Designs must be vectors files (.ai, .svg, .eps, .dxf, and some .pdf) for us to be able to cut them.
We typically only use 1 color of HTV, but can potentially layer up to 3. HTV works well with all shirt colors and fabrics.
