About Lanier College Career Academy

What We Offer Our Students

Lanier College and Career Academy (LCCA) was created in response to an increasing need of the Hall County community in the area of hospitality and tourism, including culinary arts, marketing, and business and resort management. Funded through a variety of grants and other funding sources, the school is a state-of-the-art facility unlike any other high school in the nation.

The facility is a blend of student-run business enterprises open to the public, while also including industry-certified classrooms for instruction. Upon entering the school, one steps onto LCCA’s “Main Street”, which meanders past the five student-operated businesses collectively known as The Oaks.

The Oaks initially opened on a school system calendar, opening Mondays-Fridays during the school year. Over the years, the student-led enterprises, which are self-sustaining, have earned enough to extend business operations beyond the traditional school calendar.

During the 16-17 school year, The Oaks started hiring students with SBE funds to open the businesses after school hours including weekends.

When entering Main Street at The Oaks, the first business is The Corner Café and is operated by students in Hospitality. The Corner Café is open Thursday & Friday, from 10:45am to 11:55am & 12:45pm to 2:00pm and  sells snacks and drinks.

Next to the Café is Get Gifted , a small gift shop operated by students in the hospitality and marketing program. The shop is open Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and includes sundry items, gift cards, balloons, unique gifts.

Design 360 is a personalized promotions lab operated by students in the Marketing Advertising and Promotion program. Design 360 provides a range of promotional items through customized embroidery, t-shirt design and production, and sublimation.

The fourth student enterprise is the Bistro , a fine dining restaurant highlighting students in the advanced Culinary Arts program and the Hospitality Management program. The Bistro calendar varies to include an ample amount of instruction and is open on Thursday and Friday several weeks during the school year, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Bistro at the Oaks touts a fine dining, chalkboard menu at reasonable prices. An executive private dining room is available by reservation, with seating up to 12. In addition, Bistro at the Oaks is open one Friday evening each month in addition to the other business offering an Oaks Experience Night for the Hall County community.
