Robert Wilson Named Next Principal of Chicopee Woods Elementary
Superintendent Will Schofield announced today his intent to recommend Robert Wilson as the next Principal of Chicopee Woods Elementary School. The recommendation will be made at the Monday, March 10, 2025 board meeting. Wilson will take the place of Principal Rebecca Fisher, who will be stepping aside at the end of the year.
“I have had the honor to serve in public education for past 29 years–with the last 15 years in Hall County–and every stop along the way helped me prepare for the next challenge,” said Wilson. “I’m excited about the opportunity to serve the students, teachers and families of Chicopee Woods Elementary.”
Wilson spent two years as an assistant principal at Flowery Branch Elementary before serving six years as the principal of Lyman Hall Elementary. For the past seven years, he has led Cherokee Bluff Middle School as principal.
“Robert Wilson has a proven track record in elementary education and has a wide variety of gifts to offer,” said Deputy Superintendent Kevin Bales. “First and foremost, he understands that relationships are the foundation for all that we do. He has a strong pedagogical background and many years of experience in leading teachers in research based professional learning. We believe he will be a great fit at Chicopee Woods Elementary, and we look forward to watching students and teachers continue grow under his leadership.”
Wilson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from LaGrange College, a Master’s degree in Education from Troy State University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
